We Did The Warm Honey Lemon Water Challenge, and You Should Too

Posted on

The internet has been abuzz lately with Crystal Davis and her honey-lemon water.

She claims that if you drink the mix every single day the health benefits are enormous. Skin looks fresher, your digestion becomes easier, you don’t get sick. Seems like such an easy fix for a slew of problems. So the question is, does it work?

We tested out the mix on four of our beauty experts here at Soap Stories who are devout coffee drinkers. For seven days, we switched out the daily java with the honey lemon concoction, and the results were pretty astounding. Here’s what we found after just a week with the miracle juice.

Coffee was out the window:

After drinking the honey-lemon water, there really was no need for caffeine throughout the day. If anything, sipping on the honey lemon water provided a much more zen boost of energy as opposed to the jittery feeling of caffeine.

Skin retained hydration:

We all know that coffee is a diuretic, and it can often be difficult to replace the fluid loss with extra water throughout the day. The honey-lemon water left skin looking flushed, some of our testers even found a reduction in the puffiness around the eyes.

Lemon has many benefits for skin, but it also helps purify the blood as well as aiding in the production of new blood cells that act as cleaning agents. The water and honey create a restorative, antibacterial and collagen-boosting powerhouse.

Digestion improved:

The honey-lemon kept indigestion at bay, and we found that it staved off bloating as well. According to the author Lemon assists your liver in producing more bile so you can break down complex foods better and use the good stuff from your meals. Honey is antibacterial which protects you from any infections you might have. It also helps with the production of mucus in the stomach, helping to flush out toxins. For this reason, it also assists with healthy weight balance.

Zapped Cold and Flus:

The honey lemon water worked to make cold and flue symptoms better almost instantly. One of our experts found that it even helped with stuffed up sinuses.

The verdict?

This has got to be one of the easiest challenges in the books. There is no downside, well other than breaking up with coffee, that was a difficult process. Our staff found themselves energized and replenished, and each said they would continue with the habit. Are you going to try it? Let us know!
